WOMAN IN HAT STUDY no.258

I loved this 1930ish look. I normally avoid painting people, as I had more than my share of figure studies as a sculptor. But this image just called to me. And it turned out to be such a fun painting. I totally experimented with styles, doing everything from fingerpainting to using streaks of color for the clothing. I can't remember the last time I just let loose like this.
