Flowers In Green Bottle

This painting started as a complete abstract palette knife piece. It was quite lovely in its own way…

but when I turned it sideways from it’s original orientation, I saw this amazing cut glass green bottle, and what appeared to be peonies or roses in it.

I can almost feel the heat from the morning light coming through the window and creating a glow on the bottle and flowers.

I kept thinking I would do a little more to this piece, which has been sitting on a small easel for a while now.

I guess it had to take 2013 ending, for me to come to the realization that I like it just the way it is.  Otherwise I would have long since reworked it.
