In 2008, my son and I would spend a few hours every Tuesday afternoon on a photoshoot. Many of these found us in Rocky Mountain National Park. One trip in particular we struck gold, when we wandered into the most amazing Aspen grove I have seen. And trust me, I have shot a number of Aspen groves, living so close to that beautiful park.
Aspen Sentinels is a studio study I did of one of the images I shot in that beautiful grove. What I love about this piece is the two larger more white aspens standing almost as guards at the entrance to the grove. As if you need to seek their permission to pass, to be lucky enough to view the wonders just beyond them.
This painting was created with Palette Knives and Brushes and…a plastic stopper from my Starbucks’ cup. Hey, whatever works. What can I say?
1. I love to experiment.
2. I also love my Starbucks in the morning. *grin* ~ Cyd
